Meet with National Museums Scotland at the Touring Exhibitions Pavilion
National Museums Scotland is one of the leading museum groups in Europe, caring for collections of international importance. Our flagship site, the National Museum of Scotland in central Edinburgh, is the most popular attraction in the UK outside of London, attracting over 2 million visitors annually. Our mission is to address the challenges of our age through creativity, innovation, collaboration, and sharing the rich stories to be found in our collection of over 12 million artefacts.
Following the success of Monkeys! A Primate Story, Body Beautiful and Audubon’s Birds of America, we will present our new international tour. The Galloway Hoard: Viking-Age Treasure brings together the richest collection of rare and unique Viking-age artefacts ever found in Britain. Discovered by a metal detectorist in 2014 after lying buried for a thousand years, the ongoing research into these exquisite objects is now transforming our understanding of early medieval Europe and beyond.
