AI and Generative AI: How to lead a strategic reflection within a cultural institution?

Description
Beyond the hype, is it relevant or not for a cultural institution to invest in the field of AI, and more specifically, generative artificial intelligences? Why should we get familiar with it, and what strategy should be considered?
In January 2024, we dedicated 2 conferences to AI, focusing on the role of museums in educating audiences about it, as well as exploring potential applications, such as facial recognition for a highly personalized museum experience.
Today, we propose to approach the topic not as a "tool” for audiences but from an internal perspective, both strategically and operationally.
Before deciding to use a specific tool, let's first ask ourselves, "Why should we do it?" Let’s engage in a cross-disciplinary and ethical conversation at the institutional level. What medium- to long-term strategic objectives do we want to achieve? How relevant is it for my institution and its stakeholders? What governance, for what uses, with what resources, and with which partners?
We invite professionals who have undertaken such strategic reflections to share their experience with us, encouraging them to share their journey, best practices, and challenges in embracing (or not) the opportunities presented by the latest advancements in artificial intelligence.
