Description
Anne-Sophie Duroyon-Chavanne, general manager of the French Savoir-Faire Institute, accompanied by the marketing team of the GrandPalaisRmn (Virginie Perreau and Hervé Guyardeau), will talk about the importance of offering a selection of handmade goods in cultural institutions’ shop to highlight Made in France products. They will explain together how selling handcrafted goods is of utility to craftspeople, their know-how and the entire sector.
Artistic crafts are indeed a strategic resource for cultural institutions. It is however necessary to correctly identify craftspeople who have a relevant know-how to build a cohesive discourse between the place, the regional history, the technique, and the public typology. The territorial integration can be of great impact to the coherence of the shop.
What do we mean by artistic crafts? How should one identify craftspeople nearby and their know-how? What feedback can provide the GrandPalaisRmn team? What good practices should you adopt?
These questions will help us through the presentation.
