Biographie

Elisabeth Breitkopf-Bruckschen is a historian and since 2011 a research associate at the “Deutsches Historisches Museum” (German Historical Museum) in Berlin. As a staff member to the President, she has been responsible for several cross-departmental projects of the Museum. This includes the management of the project “Autumn ’89 – On the streets of Leipzig”. The project is an interactive graphic novel about the events of the so called Peaceful Revolution of 1989, developed by the DHM and currently presented in the form of a game station in the exhibition “Roads not Taken. Or: Things could have turned out differently” The public can step into the role of seven characters and influence the course of history through their own decisions. The museum is using this digital application to explore new ways of conveying history that also appeals to new groups of visitors.
