Description

Musea Brugge is the museum organisation of the City of Bruges, Belgium. Across 13 sites within the historic city walls of this UNESCO World Heritage city, we care for and share collections spanning six centuries: from Flemish Primitives such as Jan van Eyck and Hans Memling to Magritte and contemporary art, in museums and iconic heritage sites such as the Belfry and St John’s Hospital. Social relevance and impact are our driving force. We want to move and amaze people, inspire them and invite reflection and critical thinking, by connecting our collections with each other, with our visitors and with the world. In May 2026 we opened BRUSK, a new exhibition hall. BRUSK hosts several major exhibitions a year, linking old, modern and contemporary art to the questions of today, and gives its entire ground floor back to the city as a freely accessible public space. Built with sustainability at its core, it aims to be internationally ambitious yet locally rooted: a place for everyone. Together with the BRON research centre, the renovated Groeninge Museum and a future museum park, BRUSK is shaping a new museum quarter in the heart of Bruges, where heritage, research and public life meet, and where we explore what the museum as a third place can be.
