Biographie
Michele Y. Smith, CEO of the Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP), is one of the few Black women leading a major U.S. cultural institution. A seasoned nonprofit and strategy leader, she has driven MoPOP’s recent growth and expanded its commitment to inclusive storytelling. Previously, she guided Woodland Park Zoo through the pandemic. Today, she is focused on preserving culture, inspiring future creatives, and using pop culture to build empathy and community.
