For several years, Museum Booster has been bringing together museum professionals through Future Museum, the international research program designed to explore the major transformations shaping the future of museums. Combining research, strategic foresight, benchmarking and peer exchange, the program provides a space for museum professionals to step back from their day-to-day activities, challenge existing approaches and explore new perspectives.
Future Museum Open Day by Museum Booster × Museum Connections, extends this dynamic through a one-day event open to a wider community of museum and cultural professionals. Bringing together the expertise, perspectives and professional networks of both organisations, the Open Day connects strategic thinking with insights, experiences and practices from across the museum and cultural sector.
Throughout the day, conferences, case studies and expert insights explore key challenges facing museums, combining forward-looking perspectives with concrete experiences and approaches from the field.
The programme also creates space for discussion and networking between participants, speakers and experts, providing opportunities to compare approaches, share experiences and build new professional connections across institutions, countries and areas of expertise.
In one day, Future Museum Open Day offers a concentrated opportunity to step back, gain new perspectives and connect with peers and experts working on the future of museums.
Future Museum – Open Day is intended for professionals working in museums and cultural institutions. Registration is subject to approval by the organisers.
Bruges railway station is 1.5 km from BRUSK, approximately a 20-minute walk.
Alternatively, take bus 1 or 2, or the city centre shuttle, to the Dijver stop (approximately 5–10 minutes). For the return journey to the railway station, walk to the ’t Zand stop, approximately 750 m from BRUSK, and take a bus to the station.
Car & Parking
BRUSK does not have a private car park.
Paid parking is available at Oud Sint-Jan, Pandreitje, Katelijne, Bruges railway station and ’t Zand.
Free Park & Ride facilities are also available outside the city centre, with public transport connections to the centre.

From Brussels Airport (Zaventem) Approximately 1 hour 25 minutes by direct train to Bruges railway station. Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes by car/taxi, depending on traffic.
From Ostend-Bruges Airport Approximately 30 minutes by public transport: 15 minutes by bus to Ostend railway station, then approximately 15 minutes by train to Bruges. Approximately 30–40 minutes by car/taxi, depending on traffic.
