About us

Founded in 864, Monnaie de Paris is the oldest French institution. Since 1775, the Hotel of Monnaie centralized the manufacturing of art products, Décorations, Current coins and Medals, which commemorate events and people who shape History. In 1973, a factory was inaugurated in Pessac, Gironde, to produce French and foreign coins, as well as Souvenir Medals, which are displayed at more than 1 000 cultural and tourist sites in France and abroad.
