Description

Take a rare opportunity to explore the reserves of the Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris (AP‑HP) Museum, an area of the museum that is usually closed to the public outside the European Heritage Days held in September. The AP‑HP Museum currently preserves around 13,000 works and objects representing hospital life from the Middle Ages to the present day: paintings, sculptures, drawings and engravings, furniture, textiles, medical treatises, instruments and devices, as well as care and teaching objects. During this exceptional visit to the storage areas, you will discover a selection of emblematic objects and the stories they tell, revealing the richness, diversity, and evolution of medicine and healthcare across the centuries. The visit will be led by Ms. Aurélie PRÉVOST, Head of Cultural Mediation and Communication, who will guide you through these little-known collections. This visit is for French-speaking visitors only. It is open to all curious minds, but takes place in the basement, so individuals with claustrophobia may find the visit uncomfortable.
