Description

Dive into the history of message transmission, an adventure spanning over 600 years! Through its historical, philatelic, and artistic collections, the Musée de La Poste showcases the full richness of the postal world, from the first messengers to contemporary communications. As a leading institution, it preserves all French stamps issued since 1849, including the very first French stamp, Cérès, featured in the museum’s stamp panorama. As part of this exclusive visit, participants will explore the museum’s permanent galleries and gain exceptional access to the reserves, normally closed to the public. This unique experience provides insight into the challenges of collection conservation, rotation, and presentation, and offers opportunities to discuss museographic practices with the museum’s experts. The visit will be led by Monika NOWAKA, Heritage Director, and Mr. Gilles COARDIER, Deputy Director of Communication at the Musée de La Poste, who will share their expertise and answer all questions regarding the management and valorization of the collections. This visit is for French-speaking visitors only. It is open to all curious minds, but is particularly aimed at museum professionals: curators, collection managers, mediators, and heads of collections.
