Discover the Cité de l’Économie, Europe’s first museum dedicated to economics, located in the Hôtel Gaillard, a magnificent 19th-century mansion inspired by the châteaux of the Loire Valley. Combining historical heritage with modern scenography, the museum offers a unique experience blending learning, observation, and interactivity, accessible to all audiences. The permanent Cité de l’Économie exhibition invites visitors to explore key economic concepts through six thematic sections: exchanges, actors, markets, instabilities, regulations, and banking treasures. Each section features interactive devices, videos, games, and archival documents to help visitors understand the workings of the economy in a concrete, sensory, and participatory way. The temporary exhibition “The Mysteries of Money”, designed for children aged 6 to 12 and their parents, complements the permanent exhibition with a playful and immersive journey through currency, history, and economic issues. Self-guided visit available in three languages: French, English, and Spanish.
