Description
As Europe’s first museum dedicated to economics, the Cité de l’Économie (Citéco) offers an original approach combining education, heritage, and experimentation. Through an interactive permanent exhibition and a rich cultural programme, the venue invites all audiences to better understand economic mechanisms and their impact on our societies.
Designed for and with children aged 6 to 12, the temporary exhibition “The Mysteries of Money” explores essential questions: Where does money come from? Can you buy anything? Why do inequalities exist? all from a child’s perspective. Conceived as a playful journey through monetary history, the exhibition unfolds across six main stages combining interactive devices, role-playing, collaborative challenges, and sensory experiences.
The visit highlights a museography specifically adapted to young audiences, where play becomes a true mediation tool. Escape games, team-based budget management, object handling, and immersive scenography offer both children and accompanying adults accessible ways to reflect on the role of money in our lives.
The visit will be led by Mr Raphaël Bonetto, Deputy Head – Exhibitions Department at the Cité de l’Économie, who will share his expertise and hands-on experience in the design, production, and dissemination of this exhibition for young audiences.
This visit will be bilingual (French / English).
It is open to all curious participants, but is primarily intended for professionals working in young audience mediation, as well as exhibition producers, cultural venue operators, and local authorities. It is also open to participants of the Touring Exhibitions Pavilion. If your profile does not correspond to this target audience, registration may be cancelled in order to ensure group relevance and coherence.
