Located in the heart of the Latin Quarter, the Musée de Cluny – National Museum of the Middle Ages offers a distinctive immersion into more than a thousand years of history, from the 1st to the 21st century. Housed in the former residence of the Abbots of Cluny, adjoining Gallo-Roman baths and extended by a contemporary wing inaugurated in 2018, the site brings together heritage, architecture, and modern museography.
Following a major renovation completed in 2022, the museum has made all its exhibition spaces accessible to visitors with reduced mobility. Beyond this architectural transformation, the Musée de Cluny has undertaken an in-depth reflection on welcoming audiences with specific needs. Existing mediation tools, ongoing experiments, and future projects will be explored during a guided tour of the permanent collections, followed by a discussion focusing on the challenges of accessibility, inclusion, and visitor experience.
The visit will be led by Ms. Stéphanie Jeanpierre-Chappon, Deputy Head of the Cultural and Visitor Services Department at the Musée de Cluny, who will share her expertise and practical field experience.
This visit is open exclusively to French-speaking visitors.
It is open to all, but is primarily intended for mediation project managers and coordinators, heads of visitor services, professionals working with audiences with specific needs, and museum mediators.
