Sustainability challenges reducing the impact on the planet

Cultural and tourist venues are adopting sustainable practices. Museum Connections wishes to highlight the concrete actions implemented to align with this dynamic and reaffirms its strong commitment to social and environmental responsibility as a partner of the sector.
FACILITIES AND LOGISTICS: 
Museum Connections takes concrete action to limit its environmental impact through responsible choices: 
  • Sustainable purchasing: 100% recyclable carpet, eco-designed signage, LED lighting, fully rented furniture, and 88% of stands equipped with reusable partitions. 
  • Reuse: the stand builder’s workshop restores and repurposes used materials (aluminum, wood, PVC, fabric…) using non-polluting processes such as ultrasonic cleaning. 
  • Waste sorting: specific recycling for aluminum and carpet, with general waste sorting handled by the cleaning provider.
DURING THE EVENT: 
  • Heating: in accordance with recommendations from the French government, the temperature inside the venue is limited to 19°C. 
  • Elimination of single-use plastic bottles: water fountains are available throughout the exhibition.
BADGES, GOODIES AND PRINTING:
Museum Connections pays close attention to the impact of every item distributed at the show.
  • Badge holders & lanyards: Badge holders made of recycled kraft paper, produced in France, are paired with lanyards  [...]
    At the end of the show, badge holders and lanyards are collected to facilitate recycling.
  • Official bags: An eco-designed and elegant bag, made to be reused. Produced in France by INDISPENSAC, a company specializing in the manufacture of eco-responsible and customizable bags, designed to combine durability with style. Committed to environmentally friendly practices, INDISPENSAC offers practical and stylish solutions ideal for reducing single-use plastic while enhancing the image of events and companies.
  • Eco-friendly printing: Limited quantities intentionally printed to avoid unnecessary waste.
RESPONSIBLE TRAVEL 
For covered trips, Museum Connections encourages the use of trains and public transportation.


PHYSICAL ACCESSIBILITY:
The Exhibition Centre, where Museum Connections is held, is fully accessible to people with reduced mobility (PRM). Entrances, halls, exhibition areas, and restrooms are all designed to ensure smooth and independent movement. Access ramps, elevators, and wide, obstacle-free walkways guarantee comfortable navigation throughout the event. Additionally, the venue’s first aid station offers wheelchairs free of charge. 
SENSORY ACCESSIBILITY:
Museum Connections implements several measures to facilitate access to the event for people with sensory or neurodivergent disabilities:
  • Hearing impairments: Some conferences are subtitled, either live or after the fact, to ensure accessibility for deaf or hard-of-hearing attendees.
  • Visual impairments: High-contrast signage with large print is provided to make navigation throughout the event easier.
  • Cognitive accessibility and neurodivergence: In line with CNPCH recommendations and to ensure accessibility for as many people as possible, we do not use inclusive writing. All information is presented in clear, structured, and easy-to-understand language. Whenever possible, we apply the principles of Easy-to-Read (FALC) language.
REGISTRATION AND ADAPTED SERVICES:
The registration form includes a dedicated field to indicate any specific accessibility needs.
Upon request, wheelchairs or chairs are provided to enhance the comfort and mobility of participants.
