About us
Founded in 2012, Léon art & stories is a French publishing house specializing in art books for children. Its mission is to introduce art from a child’s perspective, opening young readers to the diversity of eras, cultures, and imaginations.
Its catalog is built around two original series. Mini Léon, a bilingual French-English series for ages 4 and up, offers a true artistic and linguistic passport through a variety of themes such as nature, animals, the sea, and major cities, guided by a curious and mischievous chameleon. Art-Fiction invites children to step into the worlds of great artists such as Van Gogh, Hokusai, Rosa Bonheur, and Kandinsky through stories that make fiction a gateway to aesthetics.
Léon art & stories also offers educational resources available for free download on its website, helping children discover artworks and extend the reading experience.
The publishing house primarily serves museum shops, artists’ homes, bookstores, schools, libraries, and organizations dedicated to children, both in France and internationally. It also develops collaborations with contemporary artists, including Sandy Skoglund and P.J. Crook.
Through the exhibition Des Images et des Histoires, Léon art & stories shares the origins of the publishing house, its artistic journey, and its convictions, highlighting its editorial vision, graphic choices, and the issue of image rights.
Committed to sustainable development, the publishing house designs its books in France, has them printed and manufactured in France and Belgium, holds Imprim’Vert certification, and gives preference to PEFC- or FSC-certified paper.
