About us
Designer Michael Barnaart launched his design label in 2008. Originally from the Netherlands and based in France since 2024, he creates bespoke enamelled brooches and knitwear accessories for museums, cultural institutions, hotels and public authorities.
At Museum Connections, he presents his collection of brooches and accessories. Existing designs can be customised, or new designs can be developed on request in collaboration with cultural institutions.
Michael Barnaart’s work has been developed in collaboration with institutions including the Mauritshuis, Escher in Het Paleis, Kunstmuseum Den Haag, the Kröller-Müller Museum and the Dutch Senate. His work is also included in various museum collections as museum objects and has been exhibited internationally, including at the Barbican in London (United Kingdom), Modemuseum Hasselt (Belgium), Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg (Germany) and Fabrique des Lumières Amsterdam (the Netherlands).
From 2027, the brand will continue under the name Barnaart.
