About us
Founded in 1998, Musées et Société en Wallonie (MSW) brings together more than 200 museums and museum institutions across Wallonia. Its mission: to represent, advance, and promote the Walloon museum sector.
Four core missions guide its work:
-Connect: building a dynamic network to develop joint projects with economic, social, cultural, and tourism stakeholders
-Represent: advocating a unified position for the sector to public authorities
-Advance: professionalizing the sector through expertise, training, and advisory support
-Promote: raising the profile of museums, abbeys, castles, archaeological sites, and interpretation centers among the wider public
MSW works daily to preserve and enhance heritage, while integrating museums into Wallonia’s social and economic fabric.
