Description
The Musée de l’Homme, part of the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle, presents its major exhibition “Drugs” on a visit led by one of its curators. Focusing on a complex topic rarely addressed in museums, the exhibition sets out to challenge preconceptions and make the knowledge gathered on this issue accessible.
Hallucinogenic plants, narcotics, psychotropic drugs, synthetic substances… what exactly are “drugs”? How are they defined? Why do people use them? Do all human societies use them? Since when, and for what purpose? Throughout the visit, participants will discover how the exhibition addresses these questions and how it chooses to present them to the public.
The curator will share their expertise as well as the curatorial and design choices behind the exhibition.
This visit will be bilingual (French / English).
It is primarily intended for exhibition professionals, museum directors and institutions interested in hosting exhibitions on social issues. Registrations that do not match this audience may be cancelled to ensure the consistency of the group.
