Description
The Palais de la Porte Dorée offers a visit of the exhibition “A History of French Cinema: North African Legacies”, led by one of its curators.
For more than sixty years, French cinema has been transformed by filmmakers and actors from North African immigrant backgrounds. Their works have introduced new stories, new faces and new forms, redefining the imagination of the seventh art.
Through film excerpts, posters, photographs, archives and cinema memorabilia, the exhibition highlights several generations of artists who have shaped, and continue to shape, French cinema. It offers a new reading of its history, revealing the essential role of cultural exchanges between France, Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia.
The curator will share her expertise as well as the curatorial and exhibition design choices behind the show.
This visit will be bilingual (French / English).
It is open to all professionals attending Museum Connections 2027.
