Description
The Hôtel de la Marine offers a visit focusing on the restoration of its 18th-century interiors and the immersive installations created to bring them to life. During the renovation works, the monument chose to recreate the original interiors of the Garde-Meuble de la Couronne (Royal Furniture Repository) and animate them through sound, scent and digital technology, immersing the public in the daily life of its intendants.
At the heart of the experience is the Confident, a new-generation audio guide. Its soundtracks, recorded with scriptwriters and sound engineers from Radio France, are triggered automatically and follow the movements of your head thanks to binaural sound. The ODORAMENTO olfactory trail, created by artist Chantal Sanier, and digital installations in the 19th-century state rooms, such as the gallery of animated portraits, complete the visit.
Mr Bruno Cordeau, Administrator, and Ms Astrid Lefèvre, Deputy Administrator of the Hôtel de la Marine, will first present the monument and its immersive devices (in French).
You will then explore the permanent tour on a self-guided visit, equipped with the audio guide (available in French, English, Spanish, Italian, German, Chinese, Japanese, Russian and Arabic).
