About us

Le Coq Français® is a French cutlery house founded by Pierre-Édouard Morin in Thiers, Auvergne — the historic home of French knife-making for eight centuries. Drawing on 15 years of experience in tableware and tabletop arts, including running one of the oldest still-active Laguiole knife manufactures, our founder built a brand that bridges cutlery tradition and contemporary design. Every knife is designed and crafted in Thiers according to time-honoured technique. Each piece pairs metal with wood and can be personalised through engraving — meaningful, authentic gift items particularly well suited to museum shops, cultural and heritage sites. The brand holds the Origine France Garantie certification, guaranteeing full French-made traceability and craftsmanship. Le Coq Français has notably partnered with Michelin on a limited-edition table knife (Souvenirs collection), and creates custom products and collections for its distribution partners. Committed to local production, short supply chains and regional economic support, the brand actively contributes to the Thiers cutlery economy and is now expanding internationally. Le Coq Français looks forward to presenting its collection at the Museum Connections trade fair in Paris.
